There was this big notice in our weekly newsletter at work (really a fancy name for a little slip of paper that comes with our paychecks) anyway it was about how NOTHING should leave the building including the trash. sounds a little strange, i know, but what they're referring to is things like a group that's having a wedding reception or birthday party or something in one of the rooms will have a big fancy cake made for the occasion. The party leaves and say there's half a cake that's left behind. So some servers on the party or the people that were working in the kitchen for it or someone might box up a couple slices of cake and take them home. So now they're saying "No, you can't take it home, we MUST waste food!" Pretty dumb in my opinion.
Not to mention how many times I'VE broken this rule. I'm thinking...when a glass is chipped at the bar you throw it away. Like just a chip on the base so it doesn't affect people drinking out of it, but you can't serve it to customers JUST IN CASE they should cut themself on it. OK, fine. but if it's just a little chip on the bottom....I mean, come on my glasses at home are ALL chipped, when you're a clutz like me you just deal with chipped glasses. So I thought our daiquiri and wine glasses were kind of cool so it was like: find a chipped one? cool! take it home. I believe I have 6 of them now. But actually we're supposed to just throw them away. Yeah, if Bavarian Inn can't use them, then NO ONE can use them. Stupid stupid stupid... (and it's not going to stop me from taking glasses either :P)
