yes, i take it personally!

ok, not really but i do have a problem with this song...
first of all (background check) my cd player broke and not only do i think radio sucks in general, but the radio stations around here suck even worse. no thanks, i do not need to listen to either britney spears and backstreet boys, or system of a down and marilyn manson 24/7 either of those scenarios i could do without. and to top it off, i generally don't like country...particularly not the country-pop wannabe's (shania twain...grrrr....) so what is a girl in bay city to do? short of npr i think i've just axed most of the radio stations here. oh yeah! except oldies! so that's what i've been listening to.

back to my story:
so this song comes on that station a lot and it's REALLY starting to bug me the more i think about it. i'm sure most people know it, the lyrics are something like:
give me a ticket for an airplane
ain't got time to take a fast train

i'm [coming home?]
my baby, she wrote me a letter,
yeah she wrote me a letter
said she couldn't live without me no more
mister, mister can't you see
i've got to get back to my baby?

ok, so this guy says he needs to fly by plane, that he doesn't have TIME to take a train....yet the girl is telling him she misses him and come home and whatnot by LETTER??? well obviously she can spare a few days, she can't even pick up a phone, a letter will get there just fine huh? i really don't think the guy needs to be in such a hurry....:P
